The LV (Travel) Guide: Paris

Bonjour! I recently traveled to Paris SOLO and I cannot tell you how wonderful and empowering it was. If you’ve never traveled alone before, I highly recommend it at least once. Patrick is in Morocco for a work trip, and before I meet him there, I HAD to come back to one of my favorite cities: Paris. I’m on a mission to eat the greatest soufflé in the city, soak up all of the incredible fashion moments, and so much more. Scroll down to see where I ate, what I wore, and a few of my favorite places to visit.

HOW I PREPPED

I spent 40+ hours getting Santi and our family ready for this trip, between the scheduling, travel arrangements, booking activities, spreadsheets, food prep, photo books, supply ordering, emergency planning (just in case!), etc. etc. etc. No wonder moms rarely take vacations alone. But let my trip prove that you CAN do it!

It was really hard to leave Santi, BUT I’m working on releasing any guilt and instead focusing on how much my head and heart need this time.

WHAT I WORE

If you’re subscribed to my newsletter, you already know what I packed on my trip to Paris with direct links.

Think: lots of neutrals, soft and cozy threads, a ton of texture, and WARM pieces. It was SO cold there but luckily I packed the absolute warmest sweaters and jackets I could find. I’m traveling to 3 cities in 10 days during the winter, so it was a lot, even using my tried and true packing cubes. Everything I brought fit into two bags.

I packed staples like the warmest jacket ever from The Arrivals, my comfy New Balance sneakers which were perfect for walking around, and I made sure choose items I could repurpose in different outfits, like my leopard print heels from YSL.

MY PACKING TIPS:

  1. Create a mood board of looks based on the season, location, and pieces you already know you want to bring.

  2. Write down your outfits to make sure you’re including items that can be worn multiple times in different ways (i.e. a black blazer) and also identify anything you need to purchase before the trip.

  3. Try to stick to one vibe and color palette to limit overpacking. Capsule wardrobes are life when it comes to traveling.

TRAVEL TIP:

Create special traditions for yourself. Something I always do when I’m in Paris is pick up fragrance. I found the cutest store called L’Artisan Parfumeur and monogrammed a travel set for myself. I picked 3 of my favorite perfumes, then they personalize the leather travel case with whatever you want it to say. Et voilà! I can now bring a memory of Paris on every future trip.
