The LV (Travel) Guide: O’ahu

Over the New Year my husband and I spent some time relaxing and rejuvenating in gorgeous O’ahu, Hawaii. It was a much needed trip after the holidays! And anytime is a great time to visit Hawaii, the weather is always warm, there are so many delicious restaurants and food trucks to try, the views are breathtaking…and of course, the amazing surf!

We explored the coastline, basked in all the beautiful sites, got into the water, and completely enjoyed island life. With bold prints and patterns, traditional, fresh foods, and intoxicating florals, O’ahu is a treat for the senses…so when are you planning your trip to paradise??

Here’s a list of some of the restaurants, shops, and, of course, beaches I fell in love within O’ahu:

Makaha Beach Park

We rang in the new year on this gorgeous white sand beach! Set on the leeward, or west, coast, this popular surf spot is home to huge waves and sits at the edge of one of O’ahu’s largest valleys...which makes for breathtaking views!

Banzai Pipeline

World renown, Pipeline is THE place to go to see (and surf!) the perfect barrel. Tip: If you stop by during a surf comp, you’ll want to show up early to get a good spot on the beach!

Hale’iwa Bowls

I don’t think there’s anything more refreshing than an açai bowl for breakfast. With fresh ingredients and plant-based, compostable products (like plastic-free bowls), I love the dedication Hale’iwa Bowls has to contributing to a healthy planet! Don’t forget to try their hibiscus cold brew tea!

Over Easy

When you check out this adorable brunch spot you have to try their crispy edge pancakes! Specializing in all things breakfast + lunch, stay for the food and enjoy the ambiance while you’re there. Loving the subway tile and bright wainscoting!

Olive and Oliver

Grab A Cup of Aloha and head next door to scope out their vintage apparel, adorable accessories, and surf-inspired home goods! I could just live in there!

ChadLou’s Coffee Roasters

Everyday deserves a fresh start and a fresh cup of coffee...and ChadLou’s farm-to-cup coffee is essential! You can even volunteer at their coffee farm, they post volunteer days on their IG page!

Sunrise Shack

With two locations, Haleiwa and Honolulu, you can start your day off with a delicious smoothie bowl and cold-pressed juice no matter where you’re headed! And you’ll want to check out their organic lunch menu while you’re in Waikiki!

James After Beach Club

For all your surf apparel needs, stock up on vintage-style hats, tees, and accessories. Your friends back at home will be dying to know where you got your laid back, cool girl style!

Ka'ena Point

For a remote walk along the coast, you’re going to want to check this spot out. Set on the northwest corner of O’ahu, Ka’ena Point features tide pools, stone arches, and of course, gorgeous views!

Sunny Days

Fresh fruit and veggies are a staple in Hawaii. And an epic açai bowl, paired with a cup of coffee in a cute diner mug, is the best way to start your morning in paradise!

Monsarrat Shave Ice

A trip to Hawaii is not complete without shave ice! Try all of their mouthwatering flavors, especially when the weather gets hot!

Naupaka Spa and Wellness at Four Seasons, Oahu

To really relax, treat yourself to one of Naupaka Spa’s many luxe treatments. Like the stargazing couple’s massage...oceanfront and candle-lit, of course!
