How To Wear The Monochromatic Trend

Can y’all tell I love a monochromatic look? When you find a color that makes you feel like a million bucks, you’re going to want to wear it head to toe…and here’s your chance! Embrace seasonal colors (like winter white or the cheerful colors of spring), current trends (like Pantone’s color of the year) or just choose your favorite color and run with it! I like to incorporate different textures and fabrics in the same (or similar) hue to make the color really shine. Here are 4 tips to help you rock the look.

ADD A BIT OF TEXTURE

Don’t be afraid to try new prints and textures! Pair a solid top with a tartan-printed skirt, or a satin shirt with soft, corduroy pants, all in the same, stunning shade.

PLAY WITH FABRIC

Do you have a flowy blouse? Pair it with a more structured bottom to give balance to the outfit, like the above & Other Stories blouse with the Jacquemus skirt both in gorgeous shades of pink.

INCORPORATE A DIFFERENT SHADE OF THE SAME COLOR

Choose a forest green pant with a sage green top, the shift in color gives the outfit just enough contrast. This creates a stunning look…all within the same corner of the color wheel!

KEEP THE ACCESSORIES MINIMAL

The talking point will be the color you’re wearing, so keep jewelry, shoes, and other accessories complementary, but minimalist. Think: clear bangles, dainty gold pieces, or a nude pump!
