Why I Splurge on Skincare

My current skincare routine costs around $1,000 and I hear you – that’s a high number – but I only get ONE face. As I get older, I want continue to look and feel my best AND I want to look and feel like myself. This is less about avoiding looking ‘old’ and more about embracing looking like ME.

So I invest in products that have a high return and, at 43, I’d like to think that my investment in high-quality, efficacious skincare has paid off.

This routine has transformed my skin. I double cleanse, use day and night-specific formulas, toner, retinol of course, luxe eye cream (Pro Tip: tap cream around your eyes gently with your ring finger), an incredible serum, lip jelly because lips need love, too, and then I lock it all in with the right moisturizer for my skin type. I also make it a point to protect myself from the sun. We all know too much sun exposure negatively affects the look and feel of our skin, so an effective and lightweight sunscreen is a must-have.

Don’t forget the neck, décolletage, and hands! These areas need just as much TLC as the face. Not to mention our hands are often under-loved with the environmental changes we put them through every day.

I cannot leave out that I make sure to visit talented estheticians. I absolutely love my regular facials with the incredible Nari Colon. She uses the most incredible formulas and techniques, all while giving me tips and suggestions that I can use at home. Having knowledge of the best practices and products is essential when it comes to taking care of my skin.
