Big impact is made with small decisions and that the entire reason behind This, Not This.

As a style expert, it’s my job to be decisive. This pant, not this one. This shoe, definitely not this one. Those subtleties of why I choose something over another can be hard to capture and even harder to teach.

Trust me, after publishing an 80,000+ word book and more than a 1,000 fashion segments on The Today Show and Access Hollywood, I’ve tried.

It can be challenging to articulate the reason behind said choices, but it’s time I try again, but this time in a fresh format (thanks Substack!) that’s actionable and accessible.

Each week I’ll share a list of choices I’ve made — This, Not This — for clothing, shoes, accessories, make-up and skincare that you can shop directly from this newsletter. For too long, I’ve only shared the “this” for fear of upsetting a brand, a producer, or even one of you. But what I’ve realized is that omitting the “not this” leaves out a critical part of the equation — which can keep you in the dark on better understanding your own personal style and how it impacts decisions in your closet, in your carts and IRL.

You might be asking, why now? Well, great question. And the answer is really quite simple— my goal is (and always has been) to help you become a more confident shopper, and in turn a better dresser. You’re the reason and my motivation.
