5 Beauty Trends To Try This Fall

I love a good accessory, y’all. It can make the outfit, take you from day to night, or completely change your style. I’m excited to see fashion trends embracing bolder takes on beauty—the ultimate accessory—for fall/winter ’23-’24. Below, I share 5 trends for beauty’s biggest season.

Rebel Romance: A Glam take on Grunge

‘90s grunge has dominated runway fashion trends for the past few seasons, with some fashion houses showcasing authentic takes on the music-rooted movement and others adding their artful spin to the style genre. While the grunge isn’t going anywhere, it’s getting a much-needed upgrade with accents of glow and shimmer on skin, lips, and eyes (think Euphoria-style vibes) to bring it into this millennium.

Modern Minimalism: Less is More

No makeup-makeup is hardly a new concept, y’all, but the upcoming season’s take on barely there beauty adds subtle hints to the hallmark clean finish of this ultra-natural look. Fall ’23’s softest cat eye, underpainted blush, or a watercolor-washed lip make this somewhat ubiquitous trend decidedly de rigueur.

Magic Eyes: Beautiful & Bold

Fall/Winter ’23-’24 sees eye makeup back in a big way. Fearless eye liners, bold swathes of color, edgy metallic shimmers—anything goes. Just go big or go home with this one, and remember that, as they say, fortune favors the bold.

Lip Service: Make your Statement

The eyes may be the window to the soul, but bold lips in fearless tones and textures are making a strong statement of their own for the upcoming season. The rules are there are no rules with this one—from moody nudes, dark reds and purples to cosmic, holographic hues. Finishes range from all-in mattes to high-shine glosses, so have fun, y’all, and make a statement all your own.

Upgraded Glow: Shine On

Glass, glazed donut, vampire—pick your perfect glow and go, y’all. Skin is (still) in, with the upcoming season showcasing an unapologetic high-shine finish and pops of skin-hued highlighters that makes skin luminous in nearly every light.
