3 Things I Updated For My Toddler

Once a baby turns 1 they’re not a baby anymore, they’re considered a toddler. I can’t, y’all. With all of the emotions that come along with that, it’s also exciting to embrace a new stage for Santi. He’s starting to grow and explore and I’m doing my best to give him the space and the tools to thrive. I’ve updated a few aspects of our life together to keep giving Santi the best I can. Scroll down to see what changes I made.

3 THINGS I UPDATED FOR SANTI when he turned 1:

1. Rearranged all of his toys

It seemed like Santi was overstimulated and overwhelmed with all his toys. To put the fun back into playtime, I bought the Lovevery Montessori Playshelf. It’s a wooden toy organizer that’s reachable for him so he can get his own toys when he wants. I switch the toys that are in it every so often to get the most use out of what we have and to keep his mind engaged. What I like about the playshelf is that it’s good for him to get his own stuff AND I’m not allowing him to be inundated with all of the options. This is his face when he saw it, by the way. He loves it!

2. Let him walk

Instead of carrying him all the time, if there’s a good opportunity for him to try to walk and be mobile, I give him that opportunity. Think: open grassy fields, sandy beaches, and a soft carpet during family time. He’s been trying to walk lately and I love encouraging that.

3. Swapped out his silverware

Santi is exploring not only this world, but his palate. Trying new foods means using age-appropriate utensils and I love Mushie Flatwear. The forks and spoons are easy-to-use, easy-to-clean, BPA-free, and under $10. Plus, they come in beautiful and simple colors.
